Happy Easter!

Tonight, the Orthodox Church celebrates the Resurrection of Christ. We, Catholics, celebrated it last week. I wish all Orthodox Christians a Happy Easter and may the light of faith guide you in the darkness of progress.

A message from Father Tryphon (one of my favourite Orthodox priests and thinkers):

A message from Bishop Barron (again, one of my favourite Catholic priests and thinkers):

And a few pieces I wrote on the theme of God’s importance in the life of the individual and that of the community, as well as some essays from other publications:

  • The Brothers Karamazov: The Life, Teachings and Death of Starets Zosima, A Case Study for A Godless Society

  • The Meaning of the Cross

  • Western civilisation and religion in a secular age

  • The Greatest Christian Novel (First Things)

  • The Individual and the Church (Law & Liberty)

Finally, I would like to share a song that, although it is a prayer which is being said during Lent (i.e. before Pascha), the monks from the Valaam Monastery say it throughout the year as they perform their daily chores:

Happy Easter!
